Lady Trojans lose to Wheaten Lady Trojans Basketball team once again started slow at Wheaton last Friday. Down %21 in the first quarter, the climb proved too much for the girls. Wheaton's press caused several Ortonville turnovers, and Wheaton wasn't shy about capitalizing on those mistakes. Wheaton continued dominating the scoreboard in the second quarter, outscoring the Trojans 16-12. OHS GIRLS BASKETBALL CONTINUE to struggle this season with a loss this week against Wheaton. Stacy Wiegman, earlier in the season against Wilmot, SD made the inboundpass difficult if not impossible. "Our post players were getting some good looks at the basket once we broke the press," said Coach Hoernemann. "I still felt confident we could come back if we tightened up our defense and started putting in the short shots we were getting off the- broken press." The Trojan Ladies did outscore Wheaton in the third quarter, but only by two points (13-11). "And then again we were outscored by 10-19 in the fourth quar- ter when we sent them to the freethrow line nineteen times," said a disappointed Hoernemann. Jenna Longhenry had a double- double scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Sarah LaVoi added 9 points, Amanda Erickson 7; Stepahinie Schuelke 4; Kelli Sis and Stacy Wiegman each 3; and Lindsey Swenson, Amy Kellen and Emily Sammon, each added 2.
