He was a carpenter and landscaper in the building construction industry. Brian moved back to Mitbank approx, two years ago. At the time of his death he resided in Ortonville. Survivors include one daughter, Stacy Hagman, and three grandchildren: Kayla, Bethany, and Benjamin, all of Lester Prairie; two sisters. Janet Bogenreif. Ortonville, and Luann Lydall, Big Stone City, SD; three brothers, Ronnie Bogenreif, Morris, and Mike and Pete Bogenreif, of Big Stone City, SD; and several nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bonnie Bogenreif and Donna Mae Aggen. The EmanuaI-Patterson Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements. Grace was a member of Mr. Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, family time, grandchildren, working on picture puzzles, word puzzles and collecting stained glass angels. Grace is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Casper (Jack) of Brookings, SD; two sons, Dennis Carlson (Vada) of Anoka, Gary Carlson (Joan) of Minnetonka; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Brookings, SD. Officiating was Rev. Richard Townes, Jr. and Vicar William Sabol. Interment was in First Lutheran Cemetery, Brookings, SD. Ruth Kilvington Funeral services for Ruth Kllvington. 79. of Ortonville, were held Wednesday, Jan. 16. 2002 at the Zion Lutheran Church-in Ortonville with Rev, Shalom Kropfl officiating Organist was Tonya Bernhardt, soloist was Gale Mittelstaedt and candle bearer was Melissa Corcoran. Honorary pallbearers were the staff and residents of Northridge. Active pallbearers were Rodney Barnhardt, Zachary Barnhardt, Greg Zollner, Stuart Stone, Matt Bernhardt and David Corcoran. Interment was at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville. Ruth Viola (Haugom) Kilvington was born Aug. 16, 1922 to parents Oscar and Laura (Haagenson) Haugom in Doland, SD. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She attended school and graduated from Doland High School where she was active in debate and musical activities. She moved to Ortonville and on May 17, 1942 was united in marriage to Gordon Kilvington. They made their home in Ortonville for many years during which time Ruth worked as a waitress at the Theater of Seasons Cafe and a clerk at the Dawald Sister's Dress Shop. She and Gordon moved to Mitchell, SD in 1969 where they owned and operated the Silver Star Motel. They moved to Granite Falls in 1980 and owned and operated the Scenic Valley Motel. After selling the motel Ruth continued to live in Granite Falls until she moved to Northridge Residence in Ortonville in 1996. Ruth Kilvington died Jan. 13, 2002 reaching the age of 79 years, four months and 27 days. During her life Ruth was an active church and community member. She was involved in the Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce and Granite Falls Lutheran Church and volunteered many hours at the Manor Nursing Home in Granite Falls. [ countless hours of hard work and dedication to her motel business, her cheerful smile, her caring ways and her willingness to lend a helping hand to any'one in need. She will be missed by her sisters, brother, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; three sisters, Helen Haugom, Adeline Colwell and Vera Herker; and one brother, Myron Haugom. Survivors include her mother-in- law, Merle Kilvington of Ortonville; two daughters, Gale Mittelstaedt of Ortonville, and Lynn (David) Corcoran of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters, Doris (Marlo) Luckhurst of Watertown, SD and Lois (Noel) Eng of Sioux City, IA; one brother AI (Maxine) Haugom of Watertown, SD; four granddaughters; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The Larson Funeral Home of Ortonville was in charge of the arrangements. INDEPENDENT WANT ADS PAY Erna Roehl Memorial services were held Tuesday, Jan. 17 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Bellingham for Erna K. Roehl. Rev. Robert A. Friedrich officiated. Congregational songs were sung, with Sue Ohm at the organ. There will be a spring interment at the Bellingham City Cemetery. Erna Kabelitz was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Gehsen, East Prussia to parents Albert and Emilie (Masuch) Kabelitz. She was baptized in December of 1923 by Pastor Stern and confirmed in 1937 on Palm Sunday by Pastor Zachau at Gehsen, East Prussia. Erna attended school first in Gehsen and then to Berlin. She found employment as a Dental Assistant from 1939 to 1943 in Berlin, Germany. Erna then worked as a military nurse from 1943 until 1946. She came to America in 1951 and worked as a nurse in the Ortonville Hospital until 1953. Erna was united in marriage on June 2, 1953, to Leslie Roehl at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Bellingham by Pastor Ernst Wille. Death came to Erna, Jan. 14, 2(X)2; at the Madison Lutheran Home. She had reached the age of 78 years, one month and 23 days. During life, Erna enjoyed her home, tending to her flowers and having coffee parties with friends. Erna's work in caring for people was rewarding, and what she respected most. Many thanks from her family to everyone who demonstrated such wonderful care for her. Erna is survived by two children: Heidi and husband Devin Linderholm of Crystal, and Kimber Roehl of Bellingham, two grandchildren: Erica and Nathan Linderholm both of Crystal, two sisters: (twin sister) Elly Zahn of Milbank, SD., and I.iesbeth Gerlemann of Gelsen Kirchen, Germany, and two brothers Paul and Heinz Kabelitz also of Germany.
