Thoughts for life II In Pennsylvania in the year 2000 abortions have increased after sharp decreases in the past years. Several factors may have contributed but the largest is the increased activity of Planned Parenthood. In one county abortions performed were 60 in 1999 and 685 in 2000. The counties where there are no Planned Parenthood facilities the abortions decreased. It is time for their state government to re-evaluate its policy of giving taxpayer dollars to them. The same as in our state. The money would be better spent on programs that provide positive help to both the mother and her child, programs that provide real alternatives. Nearly I00 girls a.ge 13 and under had abortions tn 2000 in Pennsylvania, One wonders if the "abortion providers" did anything to report the statutory rape or just took the money from the adult who brought them for the abortion and sent the girls home with them.
