7 that attended the National BPA Competition 30 through May 3 are pictured above. In front: W Maas. In back: Ashley Welberg, Kelly I, students traveled for BPA Nationals of the Ortonville of America team competed at the Professionals national competition in Dallas, TX April 30-May 3. Ortonville students attending the competition were Jenny Maas, Alyssa Adelman, Kelly Thymian, Ashley Welberg and Heidi Franzky. Maas and Adelman competed in the Parliamentary Procedure- Individual competition. This year was Maas's second year of advancing to nationals in this area of competi- tion. BPA advisor Julie Kunde says, "Both girls are to be complimented for making it to the National competi- tion in this highly competitive area of competition in the state of Minnesota." Thymian, Welberg and Franzky worked together on the Economic Research Project. They wrote a paper and gave a presentation evaluating the effect of recent corporate failures resulting from alleged unethical cor- porate practices and pending legal actions against corporations and their executives. The team of sophomores placed ninth out of 64 teams at the National Conference. "The group had an awesome time and would like to thank the school and everyone that supports the BPA chap- ter," said Kunde. VISITING THE ZOO.
