Huntington corresponds a couple times a month with a Honduran physician who is assisting him with the project. The entire Huntington family spent a month in Honduras, so Mark could get some hands-on experience with his project. They stayed in a dormitory behind the clinic set up for the doctors and their families. "It was quite an experience," said Charleen, "especially doing laundry for the family on a wash board." She was in full crawling stage and ready to walk, but there were a lot of parasites in the soil. "Needless to say, she spent a lot of time in the backpack," said Charleen. Charleen loves being a morn and taking care of the children. She home schools them, and can tailor the teaching to their needs and desires. They like reading and doing science projects the best, she said. The Huntington children enjoy imaginary play acting as knights and warriors, often with their Siberian husky Copper or pet rabbit Houdini. Aside from being with the children, Charleen enjoys gardening, sewing and cooking. Now that he is done with his residency program, Mark plans to spend more time with the family and hopes to resume some of his hobbies. He enjoys fishing, amateur radio and aviation. He has completed all the necessary flying courses to take his private pilot's license, and has plans to get back into flying here. The Huntingtons are excited to be in Ortonville and look forward to becoming part of the community. They have been attending New Life Community Baptist Church in Ortonville.
