The "cousin's reunion" was held at the home of Leroy and Bonnie Goetsch the weekend of August 8-10. Those in attendance were: Lori and Danielle Harberts, Crystal; Dann and Sue Harberts & boys, Rockford; Pastor Paul and Kris Kopka and boys, Woodridge, IL; Mike, Glenda and Nolan Clark, West Fargo, ND; and Karla Hiepler, Phoenix, AZ. Saturday evening visitors included Kay Ross, Minneapolis; Charolette and Dave Penn, Crystal; Norma Hiepler and Edwin and Marilyn Goetsch. Weekend guests at the Adeline Rudnick home were Roger Rudnick and his son and friend from Sioux City, NE. Adeline Rudnick and Joan Strei helped Bernice Albrecht celebrate her 90th birthday on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Goetsch and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Maatz returned on Friday, August 8 after a 12 day bus trip with WD Tours. Many interesting sites and fun places were visited in Wisconsin, Indianapolis Speedway in Indiana, Gettysburg, Philadephia and the Amish Colon; in Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. where among many other things the group was treated to a play at the Kennedy Center, New York City, including Ground Zero, Central Park and "The Lion King" on Broadway, Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and an evenin cruise on Lake Michigan in Chicago. Step on guides accompanied the group in many of these places. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Goetsch visited Sunday to Tuesday at the Artyn Goetsch home near Mankato getting acquainted with their new granddaughter Nicole Rose born on Friday, Auqust 8. Joleen, Lucas and Chandler Van Hoorn and Lois Larson took Lucas to Alex on Friday afternoon to spend the week-end with Uncle Brent and Aunt Michelle and also Uncle Darrin of St. Cloud who spent the week-end there too. After visiting and having supper together with Michelle, Joleen, Chandler and Lois went to Green Valley Resort at Glenwood and spent the evening and Saturday with Jerry and Betty Stenerud. They also visited with Sandy and Elwood Borstad who were camping at the resort and returned home on Saturday evening. Sunday, August 10, Walty and Lois Larson and Joleen and Chandler Van Hoorn went to Alex to pick up Lucas. In the afternoon the guys enjoyed some fishing and later all met at Noonans Park to share a picnic supper. Also joining them were Lyle Sorenson, friend Misty and their son Elias. Lucille Nelson, Charles and Ihla Thomson, Phil and Harriet Nygard and Don and Cyrilla Grogner of Watertown attended the 80th birthday party for Wendell (Bud) Paulson at the Senior Citizen Building in Ortonville on Sunday afternoon, August 10. They were Sunday evening guests of Herb and Marilyn Striech home in Ortonville. Norman and Mary Anderson, Clinton, entertained on Monday evening August 11 in honor of their house guests Jeane Kling and Harry Gazer of Lemon, SD. Supper and evening guests were Lucille Nelson, Annette Moen, Doris Johnson, Howard and Vivian Janssen, Rob and Delores Danielson, Dwight and Delaine Magadanz and Don and Helen Heller of Milbank. Margret Stueckrath visited Ruth Anna Roiland at her apartment in Appleton Tuesday afternoon, August 12. Louisburg Charles and Ihla Thomson spent Saturday at Lake La Hommmedo, Alexandria, at the Kenneth and Lenore Johnson home to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversay and the Johnson Family reunion. Lea Wagner of Minnetonka spent Thursday and Friday with Charles and Ihla Thomson and Deanne Grimsrud at Madison. Joyce and Gene Gamung of Eugene, Oregon were Sunday, August 10 dinner guests and afternoon visitors at Alan and Ruth Hansen home. Joyc and Ruth taught school together at Fertile for two years. Elmer and Charlotte Athey and Keith and Matthew spent the week- end of Aug. 8th camping at Hole-in- the-Mountain Park near Lake Benton, and attended the Te Tontaha rendezvous. Joining them on Saturday, Aug. 9th were Kristine Athey, Cheryl Athey, Joel Stearnn, and Charles Grismer. Rose Fridgen and Adeline Overberg attended the flower show at Tabor United Methodist Church on Thursday, Aug. 14th. August 4th - 7th Mike Rausch and family and Lonie's sisters' families meet at Royal Lake Resort. The families participated in board games, Bocci Ball, horse shoes, Ghost in the Graveyard, Capture the Flag, tubing, swimming, fishing and night time camp fires. There were a total of 20 family members. On Aug. 9th Harriet Rausch's children and grandchildren spent the day staining her deck and building new steps. Grandchildren helping were Bryce, David, Molly, Micaela, Brenna, Thomas, and Stephanie Rausch. Delores Bengtson spent a week with her son and family in Bismarck, ND. Visitors during the week of Aug. llth of Sally Roggenbuck were Marlys Pillatzke of Nassau, Kathleen Karels of Rosen, Jeanette Fedt of Big Stone, Lois Hoffman of Rosen and Pauline Karels of Ortonville. On Sunday afternoon, August 10th Delores Karels, Virginia Karels, and Sally Roggenbuck visited Bernice Albrecht at the St. William's home for Bernice's 90th birthday. Thursday, Aug. 14th Harry Loeschke had unexpected visitors Rev Frank Macina and his wife Rosann. Harry called Melvin and Florence Loeschke and Harry took them all out for dinner at the Millstone. Rev. Frank Macina and Harry went to the nursing home to visit Harry's wife Lily. Presley Boogarrd spent five days in Canby with the John Frickson family. Angie Tracy of St. Cloud spent Wednesday, Aug. 13th with Blanche Westermeyer. Blanche Westermeyer received word on Friday, Aug. 15th that Blanche's son-in-law Jerry Smart passed away with a massive heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Cunningham of Kelsey, Alberta, Canada and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Biausen of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada spent last Sunday and Monday visiting with Geneve Comero. Lenard is a first cousin of Geneve and Mrs. Joe Biausen is a daughter of the Cunninghams. Visitors during the week of Aug. llth of Sally Roggenbuck were Marlys Pillatzke of Nassau, Kathleen Karels of Rosen, Jeanette Fedt of Big Stone, Lois Hoffman of Rosen and Pauline Karels of Ortonville. On Sunday afternoon, August 10th Delores Karels, Virginia Karels, and Sally Roggenbuck visited Bernice Albrecht at the St. William's home for Bernice's 90th birthday. Thursday, Aug. 14th Harry Loeschke had unexpected visitors Rev Frank Macina and his wife Rosann. Harry called Melvin and Florence Loeschke and Harry took them all out for dinner at the Millstone. Rev. Frank Macina and Harry went to the nursing home to visit Harry's wife Lily. Presley Boogarrd spent five days in Canby with the John Frickson family. Angie Tracy of St. Cloud spent Wednesday, Aug. 13th with Blanche Westermeyer. Blanche Westermeyer received word on Friday, Aug. 15th that Blanche's son-in-law Jerry Smart passed away with a massive heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Cunningham of Kelsey, Alberta, Canada and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Biausen of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada spent last Sunday and Monday visiting with Geneve Comero. Lenard is a first cousin of Geneve and Mrs. Joe Biausen is a daughter of the Cunninghams.
