Bellingham school news Calendar Tuesday, 10-27: GBB (H) St. Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, 10-29: S.W.E.L.L. day at Marshall for grades 4-6. Send a sack lunch or bring money for lunch. Friday, 10-30: No Headstart class Saturday, 10-31: HALLOWEEN MENU Breakfast Monday--Scrambled eggs with cheese, apple juice, milk TuesdaywBlueberry muffins, cereal, grape juice, milk. Wednesday--Cinnamon roll, orange slice or orange juice, milk. Thursday--Cereal, toast, cranberry juice, milk. Friday--Egg patty on toast, cheese slices, cran-apple juice, milk. Friday--Bat-burger on bun with cheese, lettuce, tomato, bone chips, Jack-o lantern smiles, monster mash, crispy critters, ghost milk. Bellignham Elementary News Grades 4-6 will attend the "Success by Choice" Elementary Wellness Day. The Safe and Drug-free Pooling schools Advisory Committee has planned a fast paced, educational and fun-filled morning for the students. This prevention-oriented event is made possible through the state's drug and alcohol abuse and violence prevention grant. An integral part of the stated goals and objectives of the grant emphasizes the importance of students being able to make healthy choices regarding personal lifestyle decisions--and the scheduled 35- minute sessions reflect that goal. Candle Fundraiser The playground committee is organizing a candle fundraiser with the help of Pam Jacobson, Home Interior representative from Bellingham. The children will be taking orders for the candles from October 20 November 13. Each candle sells for $5, of which $1 goes to the playground fund. Please have your child collect the money from each customer when they take the order. At the end of the drive, sheets and money should be handed in at the school office. Delivery will be the beginning of December. Scents include: vanilla, strawberries & cream, mullberry and baked apple pie. Thanks for your community support! Thank you To Ruth Schuelke, Tupperware dealer, tar presenting a check to the playground committee in the amount of $46.65. This is an on-going fund raiser for 2 more months. A percentage of each order is being donated to the playground fund. Depot News Next Wednesday, October 28, will be the last day for depot rummage sales this year. They really appreciate the community contributions and support! Thanks--hope to do this again next spring! Phone 839-2207 Big Stone City senior citizens will meet on Monday, Nov. 2nd instead of on Tuesday, due to election held at the center. All seniors are welcomed. Mr. and Mrs. Donavon Andreason of Minneapolis and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zeek of Big Stone were Thursday luncheon guests at the Clifford Chnstensen home. Lula Hagen's sister Helen and Helen's husband Gus Gustafson of Carthage, SD stopped into visit Lula Hagen Monday afternoon. They were enroute home from visiting Helen and Lula's mother Nell and stepfather Bill Martin of Motley. Tuesday evening Althea Smith and Janice Wolf were visitors of Ralph and Lavina Loeschke. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rawleigh and Mr. and Mrs. James Rawleigh of North St. Paul and Mrs. Inez Carlson of Minot, ND were recent guests at the Loraine Nolting home. Sunday, Oct. 18th Robert and Jan Rollins of Milbank visited Leo and Darlene Barnhardt. Lakeside Club members served lunch at Northridge on Thursday. Last Saturday Cheryl and Kristine Athey both of Sioux Falls visited at the home of their parents Elmer and Charlotte Athey. Later they attended the wedding of their cousin Eric Tillman to Melissa Angerhofer in Milbank. Dorothy Tillman and Fran Benkofske were Wednesday evening visitors at the home of Elmer and Charlotte Athey. Thursday, Oct. 15th until Saturday, Oct. 17th Ruth Lauster's daughter Sandra Bogenrief and son Max visited Ruth Lauster. Delores Bengtson and Marna Trewedo from Montgo Thursday, Oct. 15th to 19th with their children Paul Bengtson and Washburn, ND. Diane Bengtson, Marna Delores Bengtson spent 17th at the Norsk Host Minot, ND. They also spent Oct. 18th at Dwight Bismarck for a first birthday son Jordan.
