The Republicans have the majority but not all are pro-life. There are some Democrats who vote pro-life so will have to pray the combination will be the right one for US. I will keep you informed of who is putting bills through and who is stopping them. The same in Minnesota. The women's Right to Know Bill is out there and should be one approved from both sides as it simply informs the girl what will happen to her body, how she may feel emotionally and that there are other options and people to help. It is not a guarantee to save the baby but at least gives him the opportunity for life. "'... Think About These Things" by Rev. Wilfred C. Hansen PASTOR AT LARGE "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the has chosen as his heritage! Behold, the eye of the who fear and hope in his steadfast love." Selected from Nov. 1 lth is Veterans Day. It is fitting that we pause cial day to express solemn gratitude for all who have branch of military service. Veterans Day is an excellent a VET in some special way. I think back to a Sunday in 1985 when the Con( of Ortonville had a special Veterans Day observance. Parker described our Vets that day when he said, "They ing to retain their country, their homes, their land, but retain their freedom, to repulse an enemy who was conquering for material gain." Those freedoms were summarized by President Roosevelt during WWII. Roosevelt's words were then by artist Norman Rockwell in four paintings which ers of the Saturday Evening Post. Those freedoms are: Freedom of Speech Freedom of Worship Freedom from Want Freedom from Fear Those paintings enhanced love of country and unity during the dark days of WWII. Veterans Day is an excellent time to reflect on these the price paid to preserve them. It is also an renewed commitments to freedom and democracy. Following is a portion of an unfinished speech John F. Kennedy. He had planned to deliver this Texas, Nov. 22, 1963. I suggest that you reflect on words as you observe Veterans Day. "America today is stronger than ever before. That never be used in pursuit of aggressive ambitions - it used in pursuit of peace. It will never be used to tions - it will be used to promote the peaceful "We in this country, in this generation, are by choice - the watchman on the walls of therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and that we may achieve in our time and for all time peace on earth, good will toward men. That must - and the righteousness of our cause must always strength. For as was written long ago: 'Except the Lord the watchman waketh but in vain.'
