The one-acts are all written, directed and performed by students at the school. The thematic choice of generation-by-generation approaches to gender roles was used to utilize theater, *history and research methods to create answers to the issues and problems which surround theme. Playwriting students were asked to interview parents, grandparents, friends and relatives as to their ideas, feelin.gs and beliefs to a number of questions derived by American History. Major themes of the project include the implications for women of different generations when considering the Equal Rights amendment, patriarchal society, division of labor, and the manifestation and perpetuation of gender roles in (and by) the media.
