Scherer was born Nov. 21, Jacob and Eva (Troutman) Zeeland, ND. baptized in the Methodist received his schooling the 8th Grade in the area. 14, 1936, Ruben was marriage to Elsie "Loraine" Ortonville. at Hess Dairy until the couple moved to the in 1964 they moved into Ortonville, and Ruben did carpentry with Lundberg Construction for a few years before working for Farm and Home Lumber until semi-retirement. He built his own home and many other homes in the Ortonville area. After he quit building homes, Ruben started building gun cabinets as a hobby. He also helped Loraine with her daycare children, who knew him as grandpa. He enjoyed playing cards, and in the early days, Ruben and Loraine loved to go to barn dances. His family and all small children were especially important to him. Mr. Scherer passed away Thursday, Dec.9, 1999 at the Ortonville Hospital, reaching the age of 84 years and 18 days. Survivors include one daughter, Gloria (JayDee) Ross of Ortonville; one son James R. (Joyce) Scherer, also of Ortonville; one sister Sarah Abbott of Miles City, MT; one brother, Calvin (Louise) Scherer of Lake Elsinore, CA; sisters-in-laws Katie Scherer of Wheaten, Ethel Niesche of Minneapolis and Dolly Scherer of CA; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ruben was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters and three brothers. Kaitlin Myers Funeral services for Kaitlin Marie Myers, infant daughter of Mary Myers and James McTighe, will be at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999 at the Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Fr. Robert Goblirsch will officiate. Organist will be Pat Kunz. Pallbearers will be Tom Myers, Sr. and Tom McTighe. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Ortonville. Kaitlin died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999 as the result of an automobile accident Friday evening, Dec. 10, 1999. Survivors include her mother, Mary Myers of Ortonville, her father, Jamie McTighe of Correll, grandparents, Tom and Crystal Myers, Sr. of Ortonville and Tom and Lana McTighe of Correll; maternal great grandparents, Herbert and Pearl Butzin of Revillo, SD; paternal great grandmother, Delores Schlieman of Appleton; six aunts, Hope(Dennis Lindberg)Myers of Milbank, SD, Jennifer(Allen) Gossi of Big Stone City, SD, Becky (Scott) Richards of Lawton, OK, Jeanie (LeRoy Peck) Van Hout of St. Cloud, Julia (Jasen Lauer) McTighe of Hancock, and Tammy (Nathan Torke) McTighe of Correll; two uncles, Tom Myers of Big Stone City and Shawn McTighe of Correll. Helen Anderson The Zahrbock funeral home of Madison, announces the death of 97 year old, Helen Anderson of Madison, formerly of Louisburg who passed away Friday, Dec. 10th, 1999, at the Lutheran Home in Madison. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am this Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at Louisburg Lutheran Church. Rev. Gary Kubly will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon until 6 pm at the Zahrbock funeral home in Madison. Visitation will continue before services on Thursday at the Louisburg Church There will be a prayer service 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Madison Lutheran home chapel. Helen Anderson is survived by four children: Russell of Clinton, Jeane Buer of Canby, Betty Cohrs of Westbrook and Glenn Anderson of Arden Hills.
