The City of Ortonville has sold the land to the power company for $3,500,000. They expect to complete the building during 1949. The Eagle Cafe in Ortonville will be closed for about two weeks for remodel- ing and redecorating according to co-owners Emmet Tobin and Roy Rasmussen. P.A. Hanratty was re-elect- ed chairman of the Big Stone ,County commissioners. Six applications have been received for the office of asses- sor. Rodger Ulrich has resigned. Scott Jr. was chosen as the president of the Ortonville Kiwanis Club at their regular noon day meeting Tuesday. A new bakery will be opened sometime before Christmas on South First St. In Montevideo by C.H. Smith of Ortonville. Harlan Parker, commander of the Legion, and Martina Pflueger, president of the Auxiliary, announced that the January meetings have been postponed. Earl V.
