Gavin is now 10 months old with a hearty appetite, and a ready smile. After college and while living in Duluth, Brad came back to the area to look for that perfect spot to live. He found it. and Kristi agreed. "I loved what I was doing in Duluth. but Brad had so much enthusiasm for coming back, and when I saw this seemed perfect for us,- The original house was built in 1918, and remodeled in the 70s. Overlooking Marsh Lake, on the edge of undisturbed prairie, the house embraces the view, and births new ideas and dreams for the Fern- holz couple. "We'll keep as much of the native prairie as possible, and the entire farm is now certified as organic. We've experimented with golden flax, and green manure coer crops to enhance the soil, and e've raised popcorn, sunflowers, mixed vegetables, including carrots and peppers. This past summer we had a bumper crop of peppers, which we were able to sell to co- ops in the Twin Cities."
